The National Action Network and the Drum Major Institute are convening the 60th Anniversary of the March on Washington at the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, August 26th at 8 AM. This intergenerational inclusive day is not a commemoration but a continuation of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream. This historic event will draw thousands of participants. Rev. Al Sharpton, Martin Luther King III, and Arndrea Waters King announced the 60th Anniversary of the March during the 2023 National Action Network Annual Convention in New York City. The conveners, with their partners, have begun to organize other partners and participants.

The Washington Post recently wrote about the significance of the anniversary, what has changed since 1963, and what issues remain 60 years later.
